Brandon Sun

Brandon focuses on SPAC advisory as well as all aspects of SPAC corporate finance, including front & back-end capital raising, transaction structuring, target evaluation / negotiations and de-SPAC executions. Throughout his 10-year investment banking career, Brandon has completed over 100 initial public offerings, representing over $40bn of cumulative equity capital raised. Additionally, he has announced or closed over 70 de-SPAC and M&A transactions, representing over $200bn of cumulative enterprise volume. In support of these transactions, Brandon has completed 35 PIPEs and follow-on equity offerings, representing over $20bn of equity capital raised. The majority of these transactions were left-led deals where Brandon was intimately from SPAC formation until deal completion, and beyond.
Prior to joining CCM, Brandon was Head of SPAC Advisory at Deutsche Bank and co-led the firm’s SPAC investment banking efforts. During his tenure at Deutsche Bank, he spearheaded the growth of the firm’s sellside de-SPAC practice and Asian SPAC efforts. As a long-term partner to companies he takes public, Brandon remains intimately involved post de-SPAC and advises clients on warrant exchange, capital structure optimization and capital raising efforts.
Outside of SPACs, Brandon has domain experience across permanent capital (i.e. REITs, business development companies and other closed-end funds), specialty finance, single-family rentals and alternative asset management. Brandon received his MBA from the Yale School of Management and a BA from Carleton College. While he currently resides in New York City with his growing family, Brandon grew up in Canada and has lived multiple years in China as well as Japan.
